How I Laminate My Brows at Home (Step-by-Step)

This is my at-home brow lamination routine. It’s the same method I used on clients for years, just simplified who wants their brows lifted without an appointment. I break down what products I use, how long I process each step, and the aftercare that will keep them healthy. It pairs with my High Maintenance Routine and How I Tint My Brows at Home blog but stands on its own if you’re learning brow lamination for the first time.

Why I laminate my brows

Lamination helps your brows look lifted, fuller, and more uniform without committing to microblading. I do it to soften cowlicks, create a cleaner arch, and make my brows easier to style every day. It’s also part of my High Maintenance Routine because it lasts about 5 to 6 weeks and saves me time getting ready.

Who lamination is best for:

  • Straight brows that won’t stay up

  • Brows with gaps needing a fuller appearance

  • People who want a “clean girl brow”

  • Anyone who doesn’t want brow gel every day

  • People who love a fluffy, lifted look

Who should avoid lamination:

  • Anyone with extremely sparse or thin hair

  • Anyone with active eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis

  • If you’re on acne meds like Accutane

  • If your skin is very sensitive in the brow area

What you’ll need:

For estheticians:

  • Lamination glue

  • Lifting tool

  • Cleanser

  • Aftercare balm

  • Brow brush

  • Processing strips (optional)

  • Lamination kit (the one I linked above)

  • Spoolies

  • Micellar water or gentle cleanser

  • Cotton rounds

  • Nourishing oil (castor oil works great)

Step-by-step:

Step 1: clean the brows

Start with clean, dry brows. Remove all makeup, oil, and sunscreen. If the brow hair isn’t totally clean, the lamination won’t lift evenly.

Step 2: Brush Brows Into Place

Using a spoolie, brush the brows upward and into the direction you want them to sit. This helps you see natural gaps and flow.

Step 3: Apply Lift Lotion (labeled step 1)

Use a small amount of the lift lotion and apply it only to the brow hair, not the skin.

Shape the hairs exactly how you want them to lift.

Processing times:

  • Fine hair: 4–5 minutes

  • Normal hair: 6 minutes

  • Coarse hair: 7–8 minutes

Step four: Apply Neutralizer (labeled step 2)

Repeat the same application pattern but keep the hair brushed in place.

Processing times:

  • Fine: 4 minutes

  • Normal: 5 minutes

  • Coarse: 6 minutes

Remove with a dry cotton swab.

Step 5: Apply Step 3 (Nourish)

This is the conditioning step that softens and restores the hair.

Leave on. Do not rinse.

Aftercare Routine:

Good aftercare makes the lamination last longer and prevents dryness.

For the next 24 hours:

  • Do not wet the brows

  • Avoid steam, sweating, and hot showers

  • Do not apply brow makeup

  • Avoid touching or brushing the brows excessively

After 24 hours:

  • Use a nourishing oil at night

  • Brush brows upward each morning

  • Keep the area hydrated but avoid heavy creams on the brow hair

Lamination lasts 5–6 weeks with good aftercare.

My favorite products for aftercare:

(Add your Amazon products here)

  • Castor oil

  • Conditioning serum

  • Clean spoolies

  • Hydrating cleanser

  • Brow gel for styling at the end of the cycle

Final Thoughts:

Whether you’re an esthetician offering this as a high-value service or someone learning to do it at home, brow lamination is one of the easiest ways to lift your face and soften your routine. The Bella Pro line is what I trust professionally, and the Amazon kit is perfect for anyone who wants simple, reliable results at home.
